Vision

IIACH aspires to be a rigorous, bilingual and publicly accountable institute for the study and care of India’s archaeological and cultural heritage. The vision is scholarly rather than promotional: better recording, better conservation decisions, better teaching, and clearer public information.

The institute should help students and mid-career professionals move fluently between trench, laboratory, store, archive and classroom. It should publish methods as openly as ethics allow. It should refuse false antiquity claims, unverified statistics and decorative use of official emblems.

In the long term, the vision includes a trusted digital library, a teaching museum, conservation laboratories and a field-school network. Those facilities are described as proposed until they exist in law and in fact.
